The org......... wanted to correct my earlier post. The organization in Memphis is still in existence. My points still stand.

NashvilleAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12494813.post-32854815460508970772007-06-15T10:33:00.000-05:002007-06-15T10:33:00.000-05:00There is nothing wrong with someone "pushing" you ...There is nothing wrong with someone "pushing" you to reexamine what you think. There's not even anything wrong with anger.

However, I've watched Gerald Taylor work before. He is very skillful at intimidating people into doing exactly what he wants.

You might want to ask him why the organizations that he started in Memphis and Knoxville failed. And why the one in Nashville is in trouble. And why the one in Atlanta changed its affiliation to a different organizing network than the one that Gerald represents. By the way, he will have a great excuse for all of these failures -- he will blame it on someone else.

You can learn a lot from Gerald -- I certainly did over several years. But you can also be ready to be used unmercifully. For someone committed to "social justice," he manipulates people and organizations incredibly. He overrules local leaders that have put a great deal of work into projects, changing the focus of the groups unilaterally.

Perhaps this is totally unneccessary, but please remember that the Kingdom of God will not come in any one person or organization. When I began to see Gerald and the IAF as "the only game in town" is when I really got messed up.

NashvilleAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12494813.post-1117112950539496912005-05-26T08:09:00.000-05:002005-05-26T08:09:00.000-05:00You should never ever ever feel bad about sharing ...You should never ever ever feel bad about sharing honest straight forward opinions. PERIOD. It's sad that their are so many arrogant people who only want confirmation of their ideas instead of creative challenging. Wanting real social justice requires humility and the ability to LISTEN and really RESPECT others ideas. Don't sweat that meeting Calvin. Really. Move on.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
